Ensenada Mexico

George asks…

What is there to do in Ensenada, Mexico?

I am taking a 3 day cruise to Ensenada Mexico next month and unsure what to expect when we get there. Our ship arrives at 8 and leaves at 6. When we get there will we have to worry about transportation? Are we right next to all the attractions? What should I expect? What should I see? Any help would be great! Thanks!

Tijuana answers:

You are going to really like Ensenada! I live about 1 hour away and go there frequently. It is a clean, safe, and fun city with great food, great nightlife.

You will not have to worry about transportation. The cruise ships come right into “downtown.” Taxis are everywhere and cheap! Most likely, given the time frame of your visit (8am to 6pm – I am assuming) – you won’t even need to get a taxi. You will be able to walk right off the cruise ship and walk in downtown, visit the shops and restaurants.

You will be right there at the pier as well, nice shops, great views, great food etc.! You won’t regret visiting Ensenada.

As for safety, you will be safer in Ensenada than lets say visiting L.A. New Orleans, Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, etc…and the people are friendly.

Just remember to treat people with dignity, don’t act like a pompus American, in other words, treat people the way you want to be treated and you will do just fine.

Of course, always be vigilant! Don’t be naive. This rule applies to anywhere a tourist may vacation on this planet.

Sandy asks…

How can I get from Ensenada cruiseship terminal to Los Angeles on October 9, 2007?

I am looking for bus transportation or an alternative from Ensenada, Mexico to California. Any help would be appreciated. Anyone have a recommendation on a good hotel in Ensenada?

Tijuana answers:

Good hotel los rosas. Your boat is making a port stop, why do you want to leave the boat and go by land?? Stay with the boat, it will be safer and much easier for you.

James asks…

Has anyone traveled on the ABC bus in Mexico?

I’m trying to get to Ensenada, Mexico. I’m taking a Greyhound from San Diego to Tijuana and then planning to take the ABC from Tijuana to Ensenada. Has anyone traveled on the ABC and is it safe?

Tijuana answers:

I live in Mexico but near Cancun.About 5 years ago I flew to San Diego crossed the boarder in to TJ and took a bus from there to Ensenada Mexico where my sister was in a cancer hospital.I do not remember the bus services name but it was just fine. They also have “colectivos” which are small buses and are less expensive but stop more often.
Good Luck
