Ensenada Mexico Cruise

Michael asks…

How long does it take to cruise from California to Hawaii?

I live in the east, so I am thinking I would have to fly to California and then cruise to Hawaii. I have made the flight many times, however, how long would the cruise take?

Lizzie asks…

Do you need a Passport for a cruise from LA to Mex?

My husband and I are going on a cruise (our first) in oct or nov. It is from Los Angles to Catalina Island and then to Ensenada. Do we need to get a passport since Ensenada is in Mexico?

Tijuana answers:

Although you don’t technically need a passport (as noted above), it is always a good idea to carry one with you when you are travelling abroad. This way, if anything should happen while you are in Mexico and you are unable to re-board the ship you still have a form of identification needed to re-enter the states by air travel or some other means.

Also, the documents that you are required to carry in lieu of a passport (photo id and proof of citizenship – ie certified birth certificate) are the same documents you would use to obtain said passport. It makes more sense to get one that will last ten years than to trust that everything will go according to plan and carry your birth certificate around.
