Maxi Cosi

Linda asks…

Does the maxi-cosi Priorifix fit on the cabrio fix isofix base?

Our baby is now nearly 10 months and we want to buy the next maxi cosi up. we have the cabrio for infant and want to buy the priorifix whihc is also an isofix base.
the question is the base the same or do we need a new one?

Tijuana answers:

I have had a quick look at the website and I was not sure! The best thing to do is to contact them and ask them or if you have a small pram shop near you they are usually very willing to help.

Mary asks…

is it safe to put a baby in a car seat without a newborn insert?

I have just bought a car seat off ebay, which said that it came with a newborn insert (the padded bit that goes behind the baby’s head, however, they didn’t send it with the car seat. My baby is due today, and im getting worried that it wont be safe to put her in the car seat without it, and i cant find anywhere that sells them on there own. Its a maxi cosi car seat if that makes any difference.

Tijuana answers:

Hi I have got the Maxi Cosi car seat and I have only just taken the newborn insert out and my baby is nearly 5 months old. You definitely need it to bring baby home from hospital in. E-mail the seller and get them to send it next day delivery it is their fault they forgot to send it. Even if you go into labour now you will not give birth for a few hrs and then after baby is born you will be in hospital for at least 2 days (I was in for 4 with no major complications) So don’t worry just e-mail them and you will have it in plenty of time.

Just to add for the other answerers on the Maxi Cosi car seat it’s not only a head support but it makes the whole seat smaller for the newborn they would not have much support without it at all.

David asks…

When did you remove the head hugger from your infant car seat?

I have the maxi cosi mico (similar to cabrio in europe)
My daughter is 3 1/2 months old, weighs 11 1/2 lbs and is 23″ tall.
She has really chubby cheeks and is so uncomfortable in the car seat as the straps dig into her neck and the head hugger bunches her shoulders up. Is it too early to remove the head hugger. Will it make the car seat less safe? Obviously safety is the priority.

Tijuana answers:

If your daughter can hold her head good , i dont see a problem.. I dont remember when exactly i took away the headhugging thing, but i know it was when she was holding her head well.. So probably sometime been 3-4 months
