Mexico All Inclusive

John asks…

Where should I go: on a 7 day Cruise to Mexico or all inclusive trip to Cabo San Lucas?

‘m a female in my mid 20’s and would be travelling alone. I’ve been on a 3 day cruise before and enjoyed that. I’ve also been on an all inclusive vacation to Cancun as well and really enjoyed that as well. I like to drink, but am not a heavy, get drunk type of drinker as I know that cruises don’t include alcoholic drinks. Where do you recommend?

Tijuana answers:

I guess it all depends on whether or not you enjoy meeting and socializing which I have found easier to do on a cruise ship.

Personally I like to go to a destination and be grounded for a week or two rather than being in the water and stopping at different ports and hopping back on the boat without really getting to know the place. All-inclusive is not for me either as I like to explore the place where I am at, try different restaurants, enquire about places where the locals eat…..

I see people coming from cruise ships (we call them boat people) and being herded by busses into places that sell them stuff at inflated prices!! Not for Me!

But is is your choice and what you feel most comfortable with!

Being young and alone, the cruise would be the safest option, and both would be a good time.

Linda asks…

What is currency is best to take to Mexico Peso or American Dollars?

Also how much for a 1 week all inclusive should we take its for two 21 year olds who will be clubbing every night? We are also planning to go on the Jungle Tour, Waterpark and swim with dolphins. Thanks!

Tijuana answers:

I usually take a small amount with me of American dollars (about $100) and then exchange it when i get to Mexico. Then my husband wires the rest of my vacay money when i am there. I go to visit his family about once every 6-12 months. I would suggest travelers checks in about $100 increments that you can cash as needed. I wouldnt carry alot of cash at any given time. I would suggest a credit card, but I am not sure how widely they are accepted, I am usually in a non-touristy area, so i am not sure about touristy areas.
