Mexico All Inclusive Family

Nancy asks…

Where to use Amex points for family vacation, Mexico or Carribean, NO all-inclusives?

I hate crowds

Tijuana answers:

The all-inclusives in Mexico are very nice. Perfect for families. I don’t know about your children but our kids and grandkids are always hungry or thirsty. The nice restaurants in Mexico ARE NOT cheap. You will spend 25/30 dollars minimum for just a entree per person. No drinks, no appetizers. I would recommend the Maya Riviera area for your family. Less crowds.Check out the Iberostar or Palace Resorts. Most of these places have awesome pools and beaches. The kids have a great time in the pools.
The beaches and water are beautiful. Plus you are very close to many attractions for families.

Aruba is also very nice for a family vacation. Not many all-inclusive but you will spend much more on food and drinks.
My other choices would be Barbados and Bahamas.

What do you all like to do, is very important in choosing the right destination.

Good Luck, I hope you find the perfect vacation spot)

Sandy asks…

all inclusive family resort in Mexico?

kids 9 and 6….this would be in June….

Tijuana answers:

My favorite All Inclusive resort…Riu Palace in Playa Del Carmen south of Can Cun. A truly 5 star hotel that treats you like royalty. Air conditioned rooms, Their own water purification system, Free room bars with soda, beer and 4 types of whiskey, several restaraunts ranging from buffett to white collar and tie. Bar on the beach and sometimes they come around serving drinks to sunbathers. Free use of non motorized surf toys, etc. The have a Riu Resort next door to the Palace that is oriented towards children but I forget it’s name, and across the street is the Riu Tequila Resort oriented towards the 20 – 30 yr old crowd. Your all inclusive package includes use of the facilities, bars, and restaraunts at any of the Riu Resorts. If you feel like dancing, go visit the Riu Tequila, if the kids want to see a live stage show go to the other one. If you want to rub shoulders with the worlds elegant and wealthy, visit the Palace.

Donald asks…

What is the best all inclusive “family” resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico?

Family fun for a family with teenagers

Tijuana answers:

I don’t like all all-inclusives. I prefer a condo. But, here are a few options, with links, in both categories.

I’ve spoken to many people who think the Riu (there are 6 in the RM) is the best value for their money when it comes to All-inclusives. The Iberostar is also nice. You will need a taxi to go into town.

I personally would rent a condo with teens. It’s nice to have a “home” where you can stock the fridge with all their favorite items. They sleep such odd hours. It’s nice to have a living room with a TV and movies for them to hang out at night. And it’s nice for you to go to your master suite and just relax.
I included a link to some great condos very near to downtown Playa del Carmen. It’s in a gated community and there is 24 hour security, but it’s only a block away from downtown. They have a fabulous pool and a gorgeous beach. They have 3 webcams that are fun to look at too.

Have fun!
