Mexico All Inclusive Resorts Reviews

Sandra asks…

Where should we stay in Mexico for our honeymoon?

My fiance and I will be married in September. We are looking for an allinclusive resort in a non-spring break atmosphere. We have never been to Mexico & we’re just looking for a relaxing, romantic, and beautiful resort. Someone has suggestion Riviera Maya and Cozumel. Any opinions?!

Oh, and should we book soon or wait for last minute deals?

Tijuana answers:

Mexico is a great place to honeymoon. In my opinion it has the best all-inclusive resorts.
I like the Palace resorts and the Rui resorts in the Cancun, Plays del Carmen and Cozumel area. Spring break usually occurs in March and April. So you are safe there.

I would start my research now so you know what the prices are. There will be deals but not until summer. The prices come down when the demand is low. Right now it’s still high season. Usually mid-April, May and June are considered shoulder season. The next season is hurricane season June 1- Nov 30th. I mention this because you need to take precautions and take out travel insurance as a back up plan.

Do your research (a good site for resort reviews) (a good site for price shopping)

I would go to a travel agency once you have an idea where you like to honeymoon and how much you want to spend. The reason I suggest this is because they have contacts you don’t have. They can do more for you and you have a person to call if you need help once you get to your destination.
We are going to Cancun in May and our travel agent was cheaper than everyone and we saved over $200 dollars.

Good Luck and Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!!

Suggestions for a Caribbean Cruise or All Inclusive Resort?

My wife and I are planning a vacation for this fall. We are wondering if most people would suggest a cruise or an all inclusive resort.
We have never been on a cruise. What cruise would you suggest in the Caribbean?
We have been to the Moon Palace resort in Cancun, but would prefer to go somewhere else, any recommendations other than Mexico?
Would like an all inclusive with nice pools and lazy river.

Tijuana answers:

Many of the Iberostar hotels and Barcelo and Excellence Hotels have lazy rivers and OUTSTANDING Pools – I am not a big cruise fan but have been to LOTS of AI’s all around the carribean

My favorites for All Inclusivies are Riviera Maya ( nothing like Cancun) – Jamaica – Dominican Repulic – all have nice beachs and a good pool scene if your into that and it sounds like you are

Also Secrets and Dreams properties are great.. But no lazy rivers and ok pools.. But excellent food and service

Its hard to beat places like the ABC islands , Kitts etc.. But not so easy to find a good AI

Check out for decent travel reviews and pics.. We use it all the time

Mandy asks…

Doea anyone know of any good all inclusive resorts?

My boyfriend and I want to take a vacation in May, and we would like to try an all inclusive thing, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Tijuana answers:

I’ve been to a handful of all-inclusive resorts in Mexico (via Apple Vacations and Funjet Vacations) that are nice. Golden Crown Paradise in Puerto Vallarta is very nice, and no one under 18 is allowed in (so no screaming kids running around the pool). Just went to Sunscape Puerto Aventuras in Riviera Maya in November, and that was a decent place. Can’t remember the name of the other place I stayed at in Cancun. If you end up going through Apple, just look for resorts that have a five red-apple or better rating. And for whatever resort you find, try looking at user reviews on — but also take those with a grain of salt, because people on there can be whiners.

Also, if you go to an all-inclusive, it is nice to bring some small bills for tipping. The waitstaff/porters/workers will give you a little extra attention for it. Other than that, it’s really nice to not have to worry about carrying money or going into sticker-shock when looking at a menu.
