Mexico Drug War

Sharon asks…

What is the biggest threat to world peace today?

Is it the Israel and Hamas issue? North Korea and South Korea? Afghanistan? Iraq? The Mexico Drug wars? Genocide in Africa?

What steps can The United States (as a world leader) take to help bring us to the path of world peace?

I am aware they’re many more issues in the world than the ones I have listed, these are just some of the big ones.

Tijuana answers:

It’s a toss up between Islam and Communism. Thanks, Mohammed. Thanks, Karl.

The world would be relatively trouble-free right now if it weren’t for these fine intellectual dynamos.

Ruth asks…

How and why should the US military help Mexico with the drug cartels?

Obama has spoken with military leaders about how the US military might help Mexico with their drug war.

How and why would the US military get involved in an urban war against Mexican drug cartels?

Tijuana answers:

Because the drug cartels are crossing OUR border into the U.S. And kidnapping and killing U.S. Citizens. This is happening RIGHT NOW.

If these were Arabs or Africans doing this, everyone would be calling these acts of terrorism and we’d be sending troops into Mexico to protect our borders. Because, like, large groups of foreign nationals invading your country and directly threatening your citizens is usually considered AN ACT OF F*CKING TERRORISM, if not an outright act of war.

What the military SHOULD be doing is bringing our troops home from the dead horse that is Iraq and sending them down to Mexico to bomb the crap out of the drug cartel-controlled border towns. Turn the Mexican border into a big sheet of glowing glass – problem solved. No drug war. And that pesky illegals problem would probably taper off as well.

But hey, apparently some dipstick at the Pentagon just doesn’t see the Mexico situation as a priority. Or else the State Department is bending over and spreading for the ACLU because of the whole “rights of illegals” issue. If Obama is getting the military involved, I hope really does send some troops down there to deal with this.

Carol asks…

How did the drug war in mexico start?

I heard today that Obama is in mexico to talk about certain issues going on such as the current drug war going on in mexico. I’m just wondering, how did this drug war start?

Tijuana answers:

It all start in colombia in the 1980s were the colombian cartels dominated the cocaine traffic. Colombia’s Pablo Escobar was the main exporter of cocaine and dealt with organized criminal networks all over the world. When enforcement efforts intensified in South Florida and the Caribbean, the Colombian organizations formed partnerships with the Mexico-based traffickers to transport cocaine through Mexico into the United States. Mexico alone had a major source of heroin and maijuana.
But later the mexican cartels sarted to born and raise by themselves, the fight between the cartels grow a lot in the 90s, but the violence has steadily worsened since 2000. The president Vicente Fox (2000-2006) send a small troops to Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas to fight catrtels witha a little succes, resulting in the death of 110 people in 2005.
The war began in the early 2000s but in 2006 it was a big problem with the results of thousands of deaths, the police couldnt control the situation, so in 2006, President Felipe Calderón send the army to control that situation, and there the war began.
The are almost a lot of Shootings in the country and more than 10,000 people had died since 2006. In 2009 there has been 1815 deaths.
