Mexico Soccer

Sharon asks…

Are the quality of players better in MSL than Mexico league?

Or is it just the style of play? There seems to be a lot more passing in MSL and more kicking in MEX. I’m not trying to ruffle any feathers of Mexico soccer fans…just trying to understand better. I’m an american soccer player that played rec in the 80’s but have not watched soccer on TV much. Lately I have been watching the only soccer I get on TV.

Tijuana answers:

For now, save for the marquee players like David Beckham, the players in MLS are worse than the Mexican league because they simply do not have the competitive spirit to light up the game. Apparently, American audiences now seem not to care, with the small attendance (about somwhere like ten or fifteen thousand people per match on average). With more money, more population, and more affluence to sustain the interest of soccer, MLS will eventually be better than the Mexican League though.

Charles asks…

Were can I get Mexico soccer jersey for a really big guy?

My bros b-day is in like 2 months and I want to get him a Mexico national team soccer jersey. But he wears 4xl. Is they’re a store or some were online were I can buy one for his size. Please help.

Tijuana answers:

It seems like 3xl is the biggest you can get online. Soccer.com is basically going to be the store with the best selection online and 3xl is the max they have.
Maybe try going into your local soccer store and see if they can special order it?
I just went to the official adidas online store and they only had 2xl.

If you want to see pictures of the jerseys:

Sandra asks…

Which was the greatest Mexico game you have ever witnessed and why?

Which Mexico game had you on the edge of your seat and you consider it to be the greatest Mexico soccer game EVER!!!

Bq: salsa verde o salsa roja?
@Mike: It was actually the 2002 World Cup but I know which game you are talking about. That was a Golazo by Borgetti, probably the only good thing that came out of that world cup.
@HeHateMe: That would probably be my favorite one also. Even though Mexico lost, the 06 team played with b@llz and heart, something the 2010 team lacked in my opinion and dominated that game. What boggles my mind is that they almost beat Argentina with virtually all FMF players except for Marquez. Guardado really shined in that game and basically was the game that put him on the map. Both teams were going at, MAN im still bummed out about that game.

Tijuana answers:

Mexico vs Argentina in 06. I have never witnessed a performance from Mexico such as that one. Everyone was on the edge of their seats including Maradona who was watching the game from the stands. I was so anxious heading into extra time that my chest began to hurt and then my heart fell to the pit of my stomach moments later.
