What is the distance between Tijuana and San Diego?

I will travel from Mexico City to San Diego, and I have been told that flying to Tijuana is the best idea, and after cross the border by walking. What do you think?

San Diego is a big city. Once you walk across the border, where are you going and how are you going to get there? Why not just fly into the SD airport? It would be a lot easier.

You might merely look to fly to San Diego as that makes more sense. Rent a car in San Diego (airport) and drive across the border. I have never heard of anyone flying to Tijuana. But, I live in California.

I think it is much easier to drop into SD and go from there.
