Maxi Cosi

Mary asks…

when should i put my baby in the forward facing car seat?

My daughter is 6 months and she is in a maxi cosi rear facing carseat, shes getting too long for it but weighs 17lb 13ozz which isnt the right weight for a forward one, but shes getting too long for it, it is also extreamly heavy to carry too. I want to get the maxi cosi forward facing carseat but dont know what to do?

Tijuana answers:

Get a convertible seat that is made to rear face to 35 lbs. It is MUCH safer to rear face, even once baby is a year and at least 20 lbs. Google “internal decapitation” and see what I mean! 🙁
I didn’t switch my daughter to forward facing until she was almost 2, and I would have waited a bit longer too except we moved to Guam. We barely drive now, and the island speed limit tops out at 45 mph! LOL! So I felt safe enough turning her forward then.

Steven asks…

Does anyone know if a Maxi Cosi Axiss car seat will fit in a Fiat Punto?

HI, can anyone tell me where I can find out if a Maxi Cosi Axiss car seat will fit in a Fiat Punto. I have tried the Maxi Cosi website but cannot get the search there to work. Thanks.

Tijuana answers:

The maxi cosi car seats are pretty compact so you shouldnt have a problem fitting it, you could go to your local firestation, mothercare or halfords and they will see if it fits for you.
I have the silver cross car seat and its very long and doesnt fit an awful lot of cars because the seat belts arnt long enough to go round it. Luckily it fits my car but nobody else I know 🙁
But you shouldnt have a problem with the maxi cosi.

Donald asks…

Anyone use Maxi Cosi Tobi or Axiss carseats?

((In UK))

I’m looking at next stage car seats and don’t have isofix. The Maxi Cosi Tobi and Axiss look very good. My daughter is one today but ad she’s only 18lbs she’ll still be in her infant seat for quite a while yet but was wondering if anyone has the Tobi or Axiss and what your views are of them?

Tijuana answers:

I have the Maxi Cosi Axiss for my son who is 13 months I moved him to the car seat a few days after his first birthday, as he had reached the weight limit (20lbs) to be in it and was fast outgrowing his infant car seat. I can’t fault the car seat, the rotating seat makes it so much easier to get my son in and out the car, once fitted it is very sturdy and doesn’t move one bit, the 8 recline positions are great, if my son falls asleep which he does all the time in his seat, its easy just to recline it, he loves being able to see out the window, the seat is very well padded to, even though it was a bit more pricey than the others, it is worth it.
